Mental Health First Aid Course
7.00 - 9.30 pm Online across multiple dates.
The Connexional Team are delighted to be able to offer the opportunity to complete the 2 day Mental Health First Aid adult training course online. At the end of the course you will be a Mental Health First Aider, equipped to listen to and be better able to signpost people to the help they need.

Yorkshire West Youth at InflataNation
4.00 - 5.00 pm at InflataNation, Huddersfield, HD1 3LT.
Yorkshire West Youth are meeting for an hour of fun on the inflatables and a chance to meet other young people from around the District. In order to mitigate risks, anyone who would like to attend is asked to take a Lateral Flow test within the 48 hours prior to the event.

1st February - 3rd February
Yorkshire Plus 2022 Safeguarding Conference
This year's Safeguarding Conference will ask, "How does Safeguarding influence who we are as God's people?", and will be three sessions reflecting on the theology of Safeguarding. 
Session One will be on Tuesday 1st February from 10.00 - 11.30 am with Tim Carter, speaking on "All Are Welcome" (more details here).
Session Two will be on Wednesday 2nd February from 7.00 - 8.30 pm with Revd Helen Cameron on "Power In The Church" (more details here).
Session Three will be on Thursday 3rd February from 1.30 - 3.00pm with Revd Leslie Newton on "Forgiveness" (more details here).

Community of Practice Coffee and Catch-Up
10.30 - 11.30 am Online.
An opportunity for all lay employees working for the Methodist Church within our District to come together and offer support to one another, share the joys and frustrations of working for the church, and to offer training, advice and an opportunity to build relationships with others working in similar roles in different parts of the District.

EDI Webinar: Welcoming All 
1.00 pm - 2.30 pm This webinar will draw from the EDI (Equality Diversity & Inclusion) Toolkit, and through people's stories will include
an acknowledgment that members of the LGBTQI+ have been unwelcome and have faced discrimination; exploring how churches can indeed 'welcome all'; 
considering how Jesus welcomed (not only people inclusively, but primarily those who had been made to feel unwelcome); considering how the early Church learnt to welcome
across boundaries of community and to include those who had been excluded.

This event hosted by the Learning Network Yorkshire Plus Team will be focused on technology and how we can best use it in our work. A panel of experts will answer questions and offer support and encouragement, and there will be chance to meet in specific role groups to socialise and chat.

This webinar hosted by Sheffield Methodist District is for anyone of any denomination involved in ministry with older people, including volunteers, lay workers and clergy.

With a variety of games, challenges, workshops and worship activities to take part in, we will have an action-packed weekend!

17th May - 19th May
Yorkshire Plus Regional Retreat at Wydale Hall, Scarborough, YO13 9DG
The next Yorkshire Plus Regional Retreat is being led by Nick Helm under the theme "Coming to Rest: Going in Peace".
Within this silent retreat, there will be short talks to give some focus and suggestions for further prayer and reflections. There will also be opportunity for resting, wandering, praying and time for sharing in small groups. 
The price per person is £220, and those in the Yorkshire Plus Region will receive a subsidy from their District. Booking closes on 10 March 2022.
