Who Cares? Training for Pastoral Care
7.00 - 9.00 pm Online.
In response to Our Calling, Methodist people are to help others to grow and learn as Christians, through mutual support and care. Who Cares? is a series of four 2-hour modules that introduces participants to pastoral practice. With suggested pre/post session learning and reflection, these pilot sessions will set churches and Methodist communities on a sound footing to envision and enable pastoral support in their context.

Positively Rural: Spirituality of Older People

Positively Rural is an online community hosted by the Methodist Learning Network, but open to anyone of any denomination involved in rural ministry, including volunteers, lay workers and clergy. In this webinar, we will be considering the spirituality of older people in a rural context with input from the organisation ‘Anna Chaplaincy’.

Integrating Creation Care and Evangelism

What is the Good News of Jesus in the midst of the climate and ecological crisis? How does our carbon footprint link to our sharing of faith?
This webinar, with input from Holly Adams of the Methodist Church's Evangelism & Growth Team, will help us understand what people are expecting of us as Christians, and how we can talk about evangelism and climate issues with integrity. Growing through Change and Conflict

Growing through Change and Conflict offers support and training to Church Leaders, lay and ordained, as they recognise and respond to conflict. The day offers the opportunity to consider our own personal responses to conflict, to discuss our experience of conflict within a small group, to explore how conflict escalates within a faith setting, and to consider some simple techniques to lower the level of the conflicts that we experience.

Mental Health First Aid Online
09.00 am - 5.00 pm Online.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a nationally accredited training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. This is a practical skills and awareness course designed to give you a deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect people’s wellbeing, including your own; practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues; confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress; enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgmental listening; knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to appropriate support.

Understanding Sustainable Buildings
7.00 - 9.00 pm Online.
How do we make our buildings green? Dr. Ho Lim, convenor of Stratford-Upon-Avon Methodist Church, will break down the story of their church creating a Zero Carbon building. Lim will also help us understand how we might do something similar according to our own budgets and contexts, and talk about why it matters. This webinar, along with taught content, will offer space for conversation with others, and time for Q&A with Lim and others from the Southampton District Eco Group.

District Digital Forum

Circuit Stewards Training
7.00 - 9.00 pm Online.
Are you a new circuit steward, or have been one for a while and are looking to dive deeper in to your roles and responsibilities, and develop your skills and knowledge? This 6 session course takes place on Monday evenings from 26th Feb to 15th April. It introduces new Circuit Stewards to expectations and responsibilities of serving in this area of circuit leadership and will refresh existing Circuit Stewards in their ongoing learning and development. Each session will offer opportunities to explore ideas and share experiences as well as identify areas for further action, ongoing learning and development.
